About Me
Hi! I’m Marcene Mitchell
I have been working for the last 20 years on fighting climate change. As Senior Vice President for Climate Change at the World Wildlife Fund. (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, I work with teams of specialists creating ground-breaking programs on the deployment of renewable energy, food system transformation, reduction of waste and plastics, industrial decarbonization and conservation of the world’s most important forests and ecosystems. I work with governments to create and implement stronger climate regulations and to invest in climate projects abroad.
With temperatures rising every year, it may feel as if we have already lost the battle to stop global warming. While we have no time to spare, we have all the tools we need turn back the clock on climate change. Before working at WWF, I worked at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) where I invested in clean energy technologies around the world. I learned that stopping carbon pollution is not a problem of know how or even money. It is a problem of political and social will. I also learned that that when you show people the benefits of a greener lifestyle, people respond and are willing to make the changes to achieve cleaner lifestyles and a lighter impact on the planet. People overcome the most intractable problems once they have the knowledge and vision for a brighter future.
I am committed to bringing climate solutions to local communities and helping individuals take climate action in their lives. Let me introduce you to the 5 key strategies to solving climate change. Join me to learn how we can transition to a world built on clean energy and …. Share your story of climate action and inspire others to join a community of every day heros that are working to solve the climate crisis.
